A 11-Day Yogic Immersion Designed to Reset for those with Stressful Busy Schedules

In a stressful world, it is so easy for our natural sense of peace to get disturbed and our focus to scatter. If your heart is calling for a deep change but your schedule is not allowing a full month in the mountains, this 11-day immersion is your sanctuary. We created this 100-hour course as a short-format haven for busy beings who want to taste the sweetness of a yogic life without committing to a full 4-week program right away. It is a dedicated space to breathe, reset, and see if this path of self transformation feels like your true home.

This 100-hour module serves as the foundational first half of our full 200-hour Teacher Training. Think of it as a soulful "Stepping Stone" where you begin the work of aligning your energies and emotions. You will spend these days in the quiet energy of Rishikesh to build a spiritual base in:

⦁ The discipline of Hatha & Ashtanga Vinyasa

⦁ The science of Pranayama and various Meditation techniques

⦁ The sacred vibration of Mantras & Mudras

⦁ The deep History & Philosophy of Yoga

⦁ Functional Human Anatomy and body mechanics

When you complete these 11 days, you will receive a Certificate of Participation to honor the inner work you have accomplished. The most beautiful part of this program is the total flexibility it offers your real life. Whenever you feel the call again - in months or even a year later - you can return to Samyama Yoga School to complete the second half of your training. Once those remaining 100 hours are finished, you can officially claim your full Yoga Alliance 200-hour certificate and step into your role as a guide for the global community.

What Will You Learn in Our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program in Rishikesh

Key Foundations of Your Journey:

In the quiet heart of the Himalayas, we offer a curriculum that breathes. At our academy, we guide you through an immersion that turns your passion into a professional calling. We move past the physical shapes to explore yoga as a complete tool for the self. By the time you graduate, you will have a 360° understanding of how the philosophy, the anatomy, and the spirit of yoga all connect.

  • Fundamental Asana Practice (Hatha & Ashtanga Vinyasa): We start with the core building blocks of the physical practice. You will learn how the discipline of Hatha and the internal heat of Ashtanga Vinyasa work together. You don’t have to master the most advanced pose on day one. You have to learn to find your "true line" and learn how to move safely. This builds the physical strength and mental grit needed to keep your focus from scattering.
  • Pranayama: You will discover how to harness the life-force that sustains you every second of the day. We explore how different rhythms of breath can settle a restless mind, wake up your system in the morning, or help you unwind after a long day. Mastering the breath is the first real step in moving from a state of distraction toward a state of deep, internal quiet.
  • Meditation: Rather than fighting against the constant chatter of your thoughts, you will learn how to simply sit with them. We teach you systematic ways to cultivate a state of concentrated awareness. This allows you to find a quiet center that remains steady, no matter how chaotic the world around you becomes.
  • Functional Anatomy: We look at what is actually happening under your skin when you move through a posture. You will learn how your bones, muscles, and joints react to different props. We make you confident to practice without the risk of injury. This way you truly learn to honor your body’s unique physique.
  • Mantra Chanting & Energetic Vibrations: Every sound you make carries a frequency that can either add to your mental clutter or clear it away. We explore traditional Sanskrit chants to see how specific vibrations can shift your mood and settle your emotions. It is a powerful way to bring the heart back into a state of resonance and help you feel more "in tune" with yourself and the world.
  • Yoga Nidra: You will explore the art of conscious relaxation. Yoga Nidra is a powerful tool for resetting the nervous system and finding deep mental clarity. This is a vital skill for any modern teacher.
  • Shatkarma (Cleansing Techniques): Yoga starts with a clean slate. You will learn traditional internal cleansing practices used by Himalayan yogis to detox the body and sharpen the senses.
  • Anatomy and Physiology: We break down the human musculoskeletal system so you understand the "why" behind every movement and how yoga impacts the physical body.
  • Ayurveda, Mantras, and Mudras: We introduce you to the basics of Ayurveda along with the use of sacred sounds of Vibration in Mantras and hand gestures in Mudras to shift your internal state.
  • Teaching Methodology & Practicum: This is where you find your voice. You will participate in interactive sessions where you practice teaching your peers, receiving real-time feedback on your cues, sequencing, and classroom presence.
  • Community and Joyful Practice: It is not all serious study. We include laughter yoga, dance, and group activities to help you build real bonds with your global classmates and keep the energy high.
  • Sacred Excursions: Rishikesh is part of the curriculum. We take you on trips to local temples and the banks of the Ganges so you can experience the spiritual energy of the land for yourself.

Workshops During Yoga TTC in Rishikesh

Experience Different Dimensions and Go beyond the Standard Syllabus with Focused Sessions on the Niche Skills of a Master Yoga Teacher.

Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar Yoga is a masterclass in precision. Named after the legendary B.K.S. Iyengar, it introduces us to the world of props - bricks, belts, blankets - as tools for beginners.

This form of yoga helps us find the "true line" of a posture. It brings your body - from the heel to your crown in absolute harmony. We learn that when the physical body is aligned, the mental and spiritual layers naturally follow suit.

It is truly "meditation in action." It is an incredible practice that removes all distortion to find the stillness within the structure.

Kundalini Yoga

We all carry a massive, sleeping reservoir of energy that most of us never touch. Most people talk about Kundalini as a mysterious "coiled snake" of energy. But Kundalini is not a myth.

In this workshop, we strip away the illusions to uncover the reality. Kundalini is about heightening your perception. When your internal energy is raised, your awareness follows too.

We will explore how to intellectually understand this power and prepare the body and mind to handle a more intense, vibrant state of being.

Sound Healing

The nervous system is like a musical instrument that occasionally goes out of tune. Sound healing is the art of "re-tuning" your body. This is done using specific frequencies like Tibetan bowls, gongs, etc.

Sound healing essentially moves your brainwaves into a "theta" state. This is the space between waking and sleeping. This workshop facilitates an emotional release that physical movement alone sometimes cannot reach. It is a deep, vibrational unwinding that settles the mind and allows the body to remember its natural state of peace.

Yoga Therapy

This is where yoga moves beyond wellness and into the realm of healing. We bridge the gap between yoga and today’s medical needs.

In this session, you learn how asana and breath can be used as a "prescription" for specific physical or emotional wounds. It is a deeply compassionate, intelligent way to help the body find its way back to wholeness.

You will learn that yoga is not a "one-size-fits-all" workout. Yoga can be adapted for anyone regardless of their limitations.

Teaching Practicum

There is a massive difference between practicing yoga and teaching it. A great yogi is not always a great teacher. This workshop is where we get into the "nitty-gritty" of the craft.

We cover the logical side of how to sequence a class that actually makes sense. But we also look at the subtle side - how to read the energy of a room or adjust your cues for different age groups.

This workshop is built to help you find your own authentic voice so that when you step to the front of the mat, you do not need to recite a script to lead as an expert.

Restorative Yoga

In a world that is constantly moving, Restorative Yoga is the revolutionary act of doing nothing. This beautiful practice opens up your body to total surrender.

We do this by holding passive postures for longer durations. We take support of bolsters and blankets. We trigger the body’s "rest and digest" response. It is a deeply meditative practice that teaches you the most difficult skill in yoga: how to truly be still.

You will learn how to create a space where students can drop their guards and find profound, restorative quiet.

This 11-day immersion is specifically for those who feel a pull towards the mountains but cannot quite step away from their responsibilities for a full month. It is for the seeker who needs a profound reset - a chance to stop, breathe, and listen to what their soul is actually saying. You don't need to be an expert to start. This is a beautiful marker of your dedication and the 100 hours you spent in the presence of the Himalayas.

Whenever your schedule opens up again - whether it is in months or even a year later - you can return to Samyama Yoga School to finish the second half of your training. Once those remaining hours are complete, you will earn your full Yoga Alliance 200-hour credential. Your journey of self transformation does not have to happen all at once. The best transformations happen at your own pace in a sustainable way.

At Samyama Yoga School, we go beyond physical asanas. We provide the wisdom needed for your self transformation to actually take root.

Long lineage: Our teachings are not only gathered from textbooks. Our roots are nourished by the traditional wisdom of the Bihar School of Yoga and the Isha Yoga Foundation. We bring decades of lived experience into our practice halls. Ours is a space where the international standards of Yoga Alliance meet the real truth of this ancient practice.

High-vibration sanctuary: There is a specific kind of peace that happens only where the air is surrounded by the mountains and the soft grace of the Ganges. Global family: Our doors are open to seekers from every corner of the world. This international family, or Sangha, is one of the most beautiful parts of the experience. Learn and Experience Yoga The Activity Way During the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program

Discover how Rishikesh’s Landscape Becomes your Greatest Teacher through Activities Beyond the Mat

To truly understand yoga, you have to leave the four walls of the classroom and step into the world. In Rishikesh, the entire landscape is your teacher. Our activities are designed to help you feel the wisdom in your bones rather than just memorizing theories from a book. It is about taking the practice off the mat and into your life.

Internal Cleansing (Shatkarma)

1

We start with the traditional physical purifications of the body. These ancient techniques not just highlight the importance of hygiene. They are designed to wipe the "static" and fog from your senses. Your meditation and asana practice gets the chance to take root in a clear, receptive body.

Specialized (Workshops)

2

These sessions are your deep dives into the hidden dimensions of the practice. Areas like vibrational sound healing or restorative therapy are tools that turn you from a basic practitioner into someone with a truly deep, multi-dimensional understanding of the self.

Ganga (Aarti)

3

There is a specific kind of magic that happens at sunset by the riverbank. Participating in the Aarti, the ritual of light and prayer, is a sensory immersion into the heart of yogic devotion. It is often the most emotional and lasting memory for our students.

Kunjapuri (Sunrise Trek)

4

We journey to the sacred Kunjapuri Temple high above the clouds before dawn. Watching the first golden light hit the Himalayan peaks from such a high point reminds you of the vastness and the timelessness of the tradition you are now a part of.

Ayurveda in (Action)

5

You will discover the practical side of the "Science of Life." We show you how to identify your unique body type and use daily habits, herbs, and food to create a level of health that supports your spiritual journey for many years to come.

Kirtan & (Havan)

6

Yoga is also about the power of sound and sacred fire. We gather for Kirtan to let the ego melt into the collective chanting and perform Havan (fire ceremonies) to clear the space around us and set powerful, honest intentions for the road ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find the Answers to Common Questions Students have about their 11-day Stay in the Mountains of Rishikesh

Q . Is this 11-day course suitable for a complete beginner?

You do not need to be a yoga master to find your place here. We specifically built this 100-hour window for those who want to dip their toes into the yogic life without the pressure of a month-long commitment. A curious heart is the only requirement. But we do suggest you start moving a little bit at home before you arrive so your body feels ready for the new rhythm of the ashram.

Q . How does this course connect to the 200-hour Teacher Training?

Think of this as the first chapter of a two-part story. We have taken the 11 days of our professional 200-hour syllabus which covers all the foundational basics, and turned them into a standalone experience. You are receiving the exact same technical depth and ancient wisdom as our long-term students. But the format is something that fits more easily into a shorter break from your daily life.

Q . What kind of certificate will I take home with me?

After completing these 100 hours, you will receive a Participation Certificate from Samyama Yoga School. It is a physical reminder of the time you spent in the presence of the mountains and the progress you made within. While it is not a teaching license on its own, it is an official record of your study that proves you have laid the groundwork for your future as a confident practitioner.

Q . How do I eventually get my full Yoga Alliance 200-hour certification?

We believe in a path that respects your personal timing. You can return to Rishikesh whenever your schedule opens up - 6 months or even a year later - to finish the second 100-hour module. Once you have closed that circle with us, you will be granted your full Yoga Alliance 200-hour diploma. This completes your credentials and allows you to start leading yoga classes professionally anywhere in the world.

Q . Can I join if I only want a personal reset and don't plan to teach?

Of course. Many of our students come here with no intention of standing at the front of a class room. They are simply looking to unplug from a stressful life or reconnect with their own selves. They come here to experience the benefits of yoga firsthand and to experience the beauty of a slow yogic life. You are more than welcome to use this time as a spiritual holiday. The clarity and peace you find here belong to you forever, whether you choose to share them as a teacher or simply live more consciously.

Q . Which styles of yoga are we going to explore?

We focus on the two most important pillars of traditional practice: Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa. Hatha is where you learn the steady, slow geometry of the poses and find your internal balance. Ashtanga is a more vigorous flow that builds internal heat and mental focus. Together, they give you a balanced understanding of how to move your body with both strength and grace.

Q . How many people will I be practicing with?

We keep our circles small, usually between 15 and 20 students. This makes the learning feel personal and teacher connected. Our teachers want to know your name and see how you move so they can offer the kind of hands-on help that is impossible in a crowded room. Our intimate setting gives you ample support as a beginner to find your footing in the more technical parts of the practice.

The History of Yoga in Rishikesh, India

Walk the Sacred Banks Along the Heart of the Himalayas and find the Source of your Own Inner Peace

When we practice yoga today, we often think of a local studio or a specific physical sequence. But the true pulse of this practice began here - at the very feet of the Himalayas. This is why Rishikesh is so much more than a destination. It has been a spiritual magnet for mystics, sages, and seekers for thousands of years. The name itself, Hrishikesha, translates to "Lord of the Senses". It is an honor to the divine presence of Vishnu. Resting on the banks of the emerald Ganga, this land remains the world’s most powerful sanctuary for anyone who is tired of the noise and wants to find their own true nature again.

Historical Roots of Yoga in Rishikesh

The story of this sacred valley goes back over 5,000 years to the dawn of the Vedic era. Long before it was a global hub, Rishikesh was a silent wilderness chosen by the gods for their rest. The sacred flow of the Ganga has watched generations of seekers sit in tapasya (the heat of practice) and dhyana (deep meditation).

Ancient texts like the Puranas describe this valley as a "Tirtha." This word means a holy crossing point. It means a place where the veil between the physical world and the divine becomes very thin. Great masters like Vashistha and Bharadwaja sought the stillness of these mountain caves to find their own liberation. Their presence left behind a spiritual legacy that time could never wash away. Even as the world outside changes, the vibration of these mountains remains untouched.

Rise of Ashrams and Global Recognition

The roots are ancient but the era of modern "Ashram" began flourishing in the early 1900s. Visionaries like Swami Sivananda founded the Divine Life Society in 1936. They organized this town of wandering monks into a home for learning. This era saw the birth of iconic spaces like Parmarth Niketan and Yoga Niketan. They began offering structured guidance to anyone hungry for the truth.

The real turning point for the West came in the 1960s. It was when The Beatles traveled to these foothills to study under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. They did more than just write songs here. They opened a cultural bridge to the rest of the world. Suddenly, the secrets of the Himalayas were no longer hidden. Millions of people began to look toward Rishikesh as the one place on earth where you could go to find genuine peace and truth.

Modern Rishikesh: A Global Hub for Yogis

Today, the energy of Rishikesh is a mix of everything. The town serves as the definitive center of global yoga culture. Here traditional Hatha and Ashtanga sit alongside modern wellness studios. Every year, seekers from every corner of the map arrive here to complete their training. They come because a certificate earned in this valley carries the weight of authentic history. It means you went back to the source to find your footing.

The town truly comes alive during the International Yoga Festival. During this time, masters and students from every culture gather for rituals, music, and healing. This mix of ancient tradition and modern seekers is what defines Rishikesh today. It is a living, breathing place where the ancient world still greets the new-age seeker with open arms. It reminds us that the search for truth is the same today as it was thousands of years ago.
