Workshops During Yoga TTC in Rishikesh
Experience Different Dimensions and Go beyond the Standard Syllabus with Focused Sessions on the Niche Skills of a Master Yoga Teacher.
Iyengar Yoga
Iyengar Yoga is a masterclass in precision. Named after the legendary B.K.S. Iyengar, it introduces us to the world of props - bricks, belts, blankets - as tools for beginners.
This form of yoga helps us find the "true line" of a posture. It brings your body - from the heel to your crown in absolute harmony. We learn that when the physical body is aligned, the mental and spiritual layers naturally follow suit.
It is truly "meditation in action." It is an incredible practice that removes all distortion to find the stillness within the structure.
Kundalini Yoga
We all carry a massive, sleeping reservoir of energy that most of us never touch. Most people talk about Kundalini as a mysterious "coiled snake" of energy. But Kundalini is not a myth.
In this workshop, we strip away the illusions to uncover the reality. Kundalini is about heightening your perception. When your internal energy is raised, your awareness follows too.
We will explore how to intellectually understand this power and prepare the body and mind to handle a more intense, vibrant state of being.
Sound Healing
The nervous system is like a musical instrument that occasionally goes out of tune. Sound healing is the art of "re-tuning" your body. This is done using specific frequencies like Tibetan bowls, gongs, etc.
Sound healing essentially moves your brainwaves into a "theta" state. This is the space between waking and sleeping. This workshop facilitates an emotional release that physical movement alone sometimes cannot reach. It is a deep, vibrational unwinding that settles the mind and allows the body to remember its natural state of peace.
Yoga Therapy
This is where yoga moves beyond wellness and into the realm of healing. We bridge the gap between yoga and today’s medical needs.
In this session, you learn how asana and breath can be used as a "prescription" for specific physical or emotional wounds. It is a deeply compassionate, intelligent way to help the body find its way back to wholeness.
You will learn that yoga is not a "one-size-fits-all" workout. Yoga can be adapted for anyone regardless of their limitations.
Teaching Practicum
There is a massive difference between practicing yoga and teaching it. A great yogi is not always a great teacher. This workshop is where we get into the "nitty-gritty" of the craft.
We cover the logical side of how to sequence a class that actually makes sense. But we also look at the subtle side - how to read the energy of a room or adjust your cues for different age groups.
This workshop is built to help you find your own authentic voice so that when you step to the front of the mat, you do not need to recite a script to lead as an expert.
Restorative Yoga
In a world that is constantly moving, Restorative Yoga is the revolutionary act of doing nothing. This beautiful practice opens up your body to total surrender.
We do this by holding passive postures for longer durations. We take support of bolsters and blankets. We trigger the body’s "rest and digest" response. It is a deeply meditative practice that teaches you the most difficult skill in yoga: how to truly be still.
You will learn how to create a space where students can drop their guards and find profound, restorative quiet.

The History of Yoga in Rishikesh, India
Beyond the Mat, Discover Five Millennia of Unbroken Spiritual Wisdom Amidst the Himalayan Beauty
When we practice yoga today, we often think of a studio or a specific sequence. But the true pulse of yoga can be found here - at the foot of the Himalayas. This is what makes Rishikesh more than just a tourist destination. It is a magnetic center that has pulled in mystics, sages, and seekers for thousands of years. The name itself comes from Hrishikesha, meaning "Lord of the Senses". It is a tribute to the divine presence of Vishnu. Resting on the banks of the emerald Ganga, this land remains the world’s most powerful sanctuary for anyone looking to turn inward and rediscover their own nature.
Historical Roots of Yoga in Rishikesh
The story of this land stretches back over 5,000 years to the Vedic era. Long before it was known as a global hub, Rishikesh was a silent wilderness chosen by the gods. The sacred flow of the Ganga has witnessed countless generations of tapasya (austerity) and dhyana (meditation).
Mentioned in the ancient Puranas and the Bhagavad Gita, this valley is described as a Tirtha. The word ‘Tirtha’ means a holy crossing point between the physical world and the divine. Legendary rishis like Vashistha and Bharadwaja sought the stillness of these mountain caves to find liberation. Their practice cemented a spiritual legacy that empires and time could never erase. While the world outside changed, the vibration of these mountains remained untouched.
Rise of Ashrams and Global Recognition
The seeds of yoga were planted in antiquity. But the era of the modern "Ashram" began to flourish in the early 1900s. Visionaries like Swami Sivananda founded the Divine Life Society in 1936. He turned a town of wandering sadhus into an organized center for yoga practice. This era saw the birth of iconic spaces like Parmarth Niketan and Yoga Niketan. These places began offering structured yoga courses to anyone hungry for the truth.
The real turning point for the West came in the 1960s. When The Beatles traveled to the foothills to study Transcendental Meditation under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. They did more than just write songs - they opened a cultural bridge. Suddenly, the ancient wisdom of the Himalayas was no longer a secret. And millions of people began to look toward Rishikesh as the place you find peace and truth.
Modern Rishikesh: A Global Hub for Yogis
Today, the vibrations of Rishikesh are more diverse than ever. The town serves as the definitive center of global yoga culture. It is a place where traditional Hatha and Ashtanga practices live alongside Vinyasa flows and wellness workshops. Every year, thousands of students from every corner of the globe arrive here to complete their teacher training. Why? Because a certificate earned here carries the weight of authentic history.
The town truly comes alive during the International Yoga Festival. This is where spiritual masters and students unite for Vedic rituals, Kirtans, and Ayurvedic healing. This coming together of ancient tradition and global witnesses is what defines modern Rishikesh. It is a living, breathing embodiment of yoga’s universal spirit. It is a place where the ancient world still greets the new-age seeker with open arms.

For those who prefer a private ride, booking a cab through apps like Uber or Ola is common. You can hire a local taxi operator too.
