What Will You Learn in Our 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program in Rishikesh
Move Towards a Total inner Mastery by Exploring the Subtle Dimensions of Yoga Like Breathwork, Meditation & More
Our 300-hour course is an advanced curriculum built to help you rise higher on the solid foundation you have already built. We move beyond the basic "what" of yoga and dive into the deeper "how" and "why" behind every technique. Our goal is to help you find precision whether you are practicing yoga in your own life or leading a classroom of your own.
- Advanced Asana Mastery: Move beyond the broad shapes of a posture to find the quiet alignment within. We explore the intricate geometry of Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa sequencing. Together we learn to listen to the subtle whispers of the body. We turn yoga practice from external effort into an inner prayer.
- Breathwork: Elevate your connection to the life force by diving deep into Pranayama and Meditation. You will learn to navigate your own energy for profound inner healing. You will discover how breathwork can be used to touch the silent depths of the mind.
- Mantras and Mudras:Explore vibrations of sacred, ancient sounds (Mantras) and hand gestures (Mudras). You will understand how these timeless tools direct energy flow throughout your being. By mastering Mantra & Mudras, you learn to anchor your intentions in the present moment.
- Mental Restoration through Yoga Nidra: In yoga, there is something called as "psychic sleep". It allows the nervous system to truly surrender by pushing it to the theta stage. It is that velvet space between waking and sleeping where deep recovery happens. It is perhaps the most needed skill for anyone trying to find peace in a stressful world.
- Advanced Anatomy: We view the body by looking at different systems that are linked together. We learn how the musculoskeletal system functions during advanced asanas, how to protect your joints and maximize energy flow. This brings in confidence to practice and lead without the fear of bodily injuries.
- Teaching Methodology: This is where we polish your voice so your words carry real weight and clarity. You will learn how to modify a class for any soul who walks through the door, ensuring your guidance is always reliable, compassionate, and based on the body type of the people in front of you.
- Internal Cleansing: We practice the traditional Shatkarma techniques that Himalayan yogis have used for centuries to wash away physical and mental toxins. These purification rituals help to clear the "fog" from your senses. When the vessel is clean, your energy moves more freely, and your meditation naturally becomes much deeper.
- Philosophical Roots: We go back to the source of yoga so that your practice has a soul. We dive into the core texts to base your skills on truths that haven't changed in thousands of years. You get philosophical grounding whether you are on the mat yourself or teaching in a city studio.
- Principles of Ayurvedic Living: Our curriculum helps you infuse the healing wisdom of Ayurveda into your daily routine. Ayurveda teaches you the use of seasonal food, herbs, and daily rituals as medicine to keep your energy steady. This is a life-long gift that will help you sustain sound health for you, your loved ones, and your students.
- Interactive Teaching Practicums: For these sessions, you take the lead in supervised sessions and become the teacher. Our masters give you honest feedback on your adjustments and cues. This is your time to practice holding the energy of a room and find your unique voice.
- Specialized Seminars & Workshops: We explore the niche corners of the practice. These are things like advanced sequencing logic, sound healing, and energy work. These focused sessions are included to give that "extra" boost to your skillset to separate you from other yoga teachers.
- Cultural & Spiritual Excursions: Let the mountains and the river be your final teachers. We take you to ancient Himalayan temples and the banks of the Ganga to absorb the spirit of the land where yoga was born. These journeys remind you that the practice is much bigger than any book - it is a living, breathing connection to the universe itself.

Workshops During Yoga TTC in Rishikesh
Explore the Hidden Layers of Yogic Practice through Multi - Dimensional Workshops that move beyond just asanas
Iyengar Yoga
Iyengar Yoga is a masterclass in the architecture of the human body. It is named after the visionary B.K.S. Iyengar. This practice introduces props to asanas.
We use props like bricks, belts, and blankets to make complex asanas accessible to everyone. These sessions help you find the "true line" of a posture. It brings your entire being from heel to crown into harmony.
We teach that when the physical temple is perfectly aligned, the mental and spiritual layers naturally fall into place. It is truly "meditation in action".
Kundalini Yoga
We all carry a massive, dormant reservoir of energy that often remains untapped throughout our lives. While many speak of Kundalini as a mysterious "coiled snake," we approach it as a way to heighten your perception.
In this workshop, we move past the myths to uncover your internal energy. When your inner frequency is raised, your awareness naturally expands to follow it.
We will explore how to intellectually understand this power while preparing your body and mind to hold a more intense and clear state of being.
Sound Healing
Our nervous system is a delicate musical instrument that occasionally falls out of tune due to the friction of life. Sound healing is the art of "re-tuning" your vibration using specific frequencies from Tibetan bowls, gongs, and other sacred instruments.
These sounds gently nudge your brainwaves into a "theta" state. This is a restorative space between waking and sleeping. This workshop facilitates an emotional release that physical movement alone sometimes cannot reach.
It is a deep, vibrational unwinding that settles the mind and allows the body to remember its natural state of peace.
Yoga Therapy
This is where yoga evolves from a wellness routine into a way to heal the body and mind. We look at how the yogic wisdom can meet today’s physical and emotional needs.
In this session, you learn how specific asanas and breathing patterns can be used as "prescription" for various wounds. It is a deeply compassionate way to help the body find its way back to wholeness.
You will discover that yoga is unlike gym. It is not a "one-size-fits-all" workout. It is a living system that can be adapted to support anyone, regardless of their physical limitations.
Teaching Practicum
A great yogi is not always a great teacher. But a great yoga teacher is always a great practitioner themselves. This workshop is where we explore the "nitty-gritty" of the art of teaching.
We start with a logical way of building a sequence that actually makes sense for the body. Then we also look at the subtle side of how to read the energy of a room and adjust your cues for different souls.
This workshop is built to help you find your own confident voice so that you do not need a script to lead classes.
Restorative Yoga
We live in a world that constantly demands being busy. Restorative Yoga is the revolutionary act of doing nothing. This beautiful practice invites your body into a state of total surrender through passive postures held for longer durations.
This is made easier using the support of bolsters and blankets. We trigger the body’s "rest and digest" response. It is a deeply meditative practice that teaches you the most difficult skill in all of yoga: how to be truly still.
You will learn how to create a sanctuary where your students can drop their guards and find profound, restorative quiet.

Ancient wisdom: We follow the long-standing traditions of the Bihar School of Yoga and Isha Foundation. Samyama Yoga School stands as a loyal pillar in the Himalayas which has stayed fiercely true to these ancient roots. We prepare you for a real career and a deeper life change.
Sanctuary of High Vibration: There is a specific kind of spiritual energy you find only in Rishikesh. Our academy sits right in that high-energy environment. This is exactly what an advanced seeker needs to look into the deeper corners of their own mind. Here, the nature around you acts as a constant mirror. It helps your internal static to finally settle.
Advanced Curriculum: This curriculum takes you into the "why" behind every subtle shift in energy and consciousness. We move past basics to explore the intricate connection between anatomy and the cosmic truths found in our scriptures. You will leave with a 360-degree mastery, knowing exactly how to use every breath and movement for deep internal healing and right mentorship.
Deep Cultural Immersions: We often step away from the four walls of the studio to witness the actual heartbeat of the Himalayas. By visiting traditional ashrams and participating in ancient river rituals, you see how yoga is lived as a culture of devotion, not just a series of classes. This offers a rare, unfiltered look at the spiritual foundations that have kept the spirit of Rishikesh alive for thousands of years.
Power of Collective Intent: For millennia, this valley has acted as a magnet for those who gave up everything to find the truth. That long history leaves a palpable weight of peace in the air that you can feel in your bones. When you begin your advanced training here, you step into a massive reservoir of meditative energy that has been building since the dawn of time.
Healing Presence of Mother Ganga: Sitting by the river is a deep spiritual reset for any advanced student. The rhythmic pulse of the Ganges acts as a natural balm that settles the nervous system far better than any urban retreat center. We treat the river as a living presence who can wash away the mental static. It makes even the most difficult states of meditation feel completely natural and accessible.
Pure Prana and Vibrations: Rishikesh is perched exactly where the high Himalayas first meet the plains, making the air vibrant with oxygen and raw Prana from the surrounding forests. This high-vibrational atmosphere is the perfect fuel for advanced breathwork. It keeps your energy steady and your mind sharp. This is vital as you navigate the most challenging and intense parts of yoga.

We source our fruits and vegetables every morning from local Himalayan markets. This means that every bite is packed with the nutrients and freshness that only this sacred soil can provide. Learn and Experience Yoga The Activity Way During the 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program
Connect your Spirit to the Raw Pulse of the Himalayas through Rituals that Happen Beyond the Mat
Theoretical knowledge is only a small part of the journey. To truly own the practice, you have to breathe it into your daily existence. Here in this sacred valley, the environment itself becomes your most powerful mentor. We have designed these activities to pull the wisdom out of the pages of your notebook and place it directly into your heart. It is about taking the practice off the mat and into the very way you experience the world.
Internal Cleansing (Shatkarma)
We begin with traditional methods of internal purification to wash away the physical and mental "static" that accumulates in our modern lives. It creates a clean vessel for your energy to rise. Once your senses sharpen and the internal fog clears, your meditation and energy work can finally take real root.
Specialized (Workshops)
These are our deep explorations into the more subtle and hidden dimensions of yoga. Whether it is sound healing or working with the potent Kundalini energy, these focused sessions provide the master-level tools you need. They are what separate a generic instructor from a guide who can facilitate real, profound shifts in others.
Ganga (Aarti)
There is a moment at dusk when the town stops to offer light and prayer to the river. Participating in the Aarti is a sensory immersion into the deep devotion that has kept the spirit of this land alive for millennia. For most of our seekers, the collective chants and the flickering lamps by the water become the most emotional and lasting memory of their journey.
Kunjapuri (Sunrise Trek)
We hike to the high Shakti Pitha of Kunjapuri while the world is still dark to greet the first light of dawn. Seeing the sun ignite the Himalayan peaks from such a sacred height gives you a humbling perspective. It reminds you that you are part of an unbroken chain of seekers stretching back to the very dawn of time.
Ayurveda in (Action)
You will learn how to use the "Science of Life" as a practical map for your own health. We show you how to identify your unique constitution and use natural things — herbs, seasonal foods, and daily habits - as your primary medicine. This is how you sustain your vitality and stamina long after the training ends.
Kirtan & (Havan)
Yoga involves the elements of fire and sound as much as it does the body. We come together for Kirtan to let our voices dissolve the ego in collective song and perform Havan (fire ceremonies) to purify the space around us. It is a powerful way to burn away old patterns and set unshakeable intentions for your life ahead.
Frequently Asked Questions
Clear the Fog and Find the Answers you Need Before Stepping into our Advanced Mountain Yogic Sanctuary
Q . How many weeks does the 300-hour training usually take?
Our advanced path spans four weeks. This is the perfect window to fulfill Yoga Alliance hours while actually settling into the ashram rhythm. A month allows you to process the philosophy and technical skills without feeling rushed. It lets the teachings move from your notebook into your daily habits and heart.
Q . What is the next step once I finish my 300-hour course?
This certificate is the final piece for your RYT 500 status - the global benchmark for yoga professionals. It turns your foundation into mastery. It gives you the authority to lead advanced workshops and international retreats. It changes how you are seen in the global community, making you a trusted guide globally.
Q . Am I truly ready to teach at a master level after this month?
Definitely. We spend this month refining your unique voice and mastering advanced adjustments. You practice in front of your peers and receive direct, honest feedback from our masters. When you leave, you are already feeling capable and ready to lead even seasoned students with the kind of presence that inspires people.
Q . . Can I attend the training if I have no intention of becoming a professional master?
Many seekers join us simply to break through a personal plateau. If you feel like your practice has become stagnant, a month in the mountains is a powerful way to reset your nervous system. The mental clarity and technical skills you gain are yours forever, regardless of your future career path.
Q . What different levels of training are available at the Academy?
We provide a complete ladder for your growth: the foundational 200-hour course, this advanced 300-hour path for teachers, and the total 500-hour immersion for those doing both. Every program is a mix of authentic Indian roots and the professional skills you need to thrive in any modern studio across the globe.
Q . Which specific styles of yoga will we be practicing?
We stay loyal to Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa. In this advanced module, Hatha becomes about the subtle energy and technical alignment within a pose. Ashtanga builds the fire and grit needed for advanced stamina. This balance ensures you can lead everything from slow, meditative sessions to athletic, powerful and focused flows.
Q . How many students are typically in one advanced training group?
We keep our advanced groups very intimate, usually just 8 to 10 students. This means our masters actually get to know your specific body and practice. This small setting is what allows for the deep, personal mentorship required to start walking towards the state of Samyama.

When we practice yoga today, we often think of a local studio or a specific physical sequence. But the true pulse of this practice began here - at the very feet of the Himalayas. This is why Rishikesh is so much more than a destination. It has been a spiritual magnet for mystics, sages, and seekers for thousands of years. The name itself, Hrishikesha, translates to "Lord of the Senses". It is an honor to the divine presence of Vishnu. Resting on the banks of the emerald Ganga, this land remains the world’s most powerful sanctuary for anyone who is tired of the noise and wants to find their own true nature again.
Historical Roots of Yoga in Rishikesh
The story of this sacred valley goes back over 5,000 years to the dawn of the Vedic era. Long before it was a global hub, Rishikesh was a silent wilderness chosen by the gods for their rest. The sacred flow of the Ganga has watched generations of seekers sit in tapasya (the heat of practice) and dhyana (deep meditation).
Ancient texts like the Puranas describe this valley as a "Tirtha." This word means a holy crossing point. It means a place where the veil between the physical world and the divine becomes very thin. Great masters like Vashistha and Bharadwaja sought the stillness of these mountain caves to find their own liberation. Their presence left behind a spiritual legacy that time could never wash away. Even as the world outside changes, the vibration of these mountains remains untouched.
Rise of Ashrams and Global Recognition
The roots are ancient but the era of modern "Ashram" began flourishing in the early 1900s. Visionaries like Swami Sivananda founded the Divine Life Society in 1936. They organized this town of wandering monks into a home for learning. This era saw the birth of iconic spaces like Parmarth Niketan and Yoga Niketan. They began offering structured guidance to anyone hungry for the truth.
The real turning point for the West came in the 1960s. It was when The Beatles traveled to these foothills to study under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. They did more than just write songs here. They opened a cultural bridge to the rest of the world. Suddenly, the secrets of the Himalayas were no longer hidden. Millions of people began to look toward Rishikesh as the one place on earth where you could go to find genuine peace and truth.
Modern Rishikesh: A Global Hub for Yogis
Today, the energy of Rishikesh is a mix of everything. The town serves as the definitive center of global yoga culture. Here traditional Hatha and Ashtanga sit alongside modern wellness studios. Every year, seekers from every corner of the map arrive here to complete their training. They come because a certificate earned in this valley carries the weight of authentic history. It means you went back to the source to find your footing.
The town truly comes alive during the International Yoga Festival. During this time, masters and students from every culture gather for rituals, music, and healing. This mix of ancient tradition and modern seekers is what defines Rishikesh today. It is a living, breathing place where the ancient world still greets the new-age seeker with open arms. It reminds us that the search for truth is the same today as it was thousands of years ago.
